Emma joined Bell Pottinger Public Affairs as a Director in March 2008 to head up the Local Government & Planning Unit. Emma specialises in local government, property, planning policy, governance and community engagement.

Emma has an outstanding track record in gaining planning consents for her property clients advising on how to approach local politics in relation to major planning applications. She has successfully delivered consents for Multiplex (Strata tower, Elephant & Castle), Berkeley Homes, Barratt Homes, Capital & Counties, Minerva (Ram Brewery, Wandsworth Town Centre), Royal College of Art, Frasers Property and many others. Her current high profile projects include Battersea Power Station and the Northern Line extension to Nine Elms for Treasury Holdings, the proposed Visitors Centre at Stonehenge for English Heritage and a brief to reposition Alexandra Palace as a premier London venue.

Emma has worked with numerous local authorities, including the majority of the London Boroughs and advises the Core Cities Group, which represents the eight major cities outside of London, on their public affairs and government relations programme.

In addition to her property clients, Emma advises a number of energy clients on planning and community engagement on issues such as energy from waste, biomass and other new and renewable technologies.

Emma is heavily involved in Conservative politics in London as an active member of the party.
